This past week was Thanksgiving. Typically, we would trek to my Uncle Brian’s on Tuesday night, stay there until Saturday morning, and then go to Anna’s family for Saturday round 2 thanksgiving.

However, this year, COVID happened. Right b4 we were getting ready to leave Anna’s parents and go to my uncle’s, Anna got notice that she had been “semi-exposed” (aka – she had been exposed, but her school wasn’t counting it as an exposure). Therefore, instead of going to Uncle Brian’s, we turned around and went home.

Some things happen for a reason though, and because of that, we spent thanksgiving with Uncle Paul (of the pool fame), and I’m glad we did. He normally spends Thanksgiving with Nana, and with that + a friend in poor health, he would have been all alone this year. We had a feast that he made us too, from Turkey, to cheesy potatoes, to brussel sprouts, to green beans, to pecan pie and ice cream. Izzy’s favorite were his typical appetizer of cheese sticks covered in salami. It was delicious.

Then, that night, we went to Sims’ house, who had just got back from Mexico, and just hung out by the fire we made, very socially distant and outside. That was also fun, and as we left, Melinda made us a plate, which was more like 3 meals in a bag, and was also delicious when we got home.

In kid news, I forgot that’s what this is – Joe is sitting up easily now and also crawling. He will show up in a doorway or behind you when you are least expecting it. He also likes chasing things, solely so he can put them in his mouth.

Izzy is definitely my daughter. Her laugh is still amazing, but she’s got an equal pout/fit throwing ability when she doesn’t get her way. We decorated our Christmas tree yesterday, which she loved, but she also broke about 2 ornaments and our reindeer salt shakers. She’s a one woman wrecking ball. I think she will have a good Christmas, at least I hope, we are looking forward to it.
