We are now in 3rd grade, 1st grade, and class 2 of Daycare. Where did the summer go?
Izzy did not want to go to school on Day 1. This was a first. She was not happy about not having any of her friends in her class, but we seem to have gotten past it. This goes along with the theme of Izzy really not wanting to do much other than watch or play at home with Maddie and Eliza. She’s a completely different person after she watches. This summer, I would say she kind of learned how to water ski. She definitely got up and rode for about 30 seconds. Next time I think she will be zipping around. The problem was she liked tubing too much to want to ski. She also liked going 70 mph on Tom’s jet ski with me. She is still a daredevil. One day she’ll sleep through the night in her own room…
Joseph has become a good helper. He does his chore list without much complaining, also motivated by watching. He did get sunburn at the beach that made his face peel and look like a raccoon. It was pretty funny. He’s grown a ton, and is basically the size of the 3rd graders in our neighborhood. He is successfully sleeping through the night in his room again. He’s got his first loose tooth, and I’m a bit worried about where the permanent one is coming in. Time will tell.
Benni is crawling up a storm. It went really fast from learning to crawl to motoring around and climbing stairs. She has also got her first teeth, bottom two middle, just this past week. You can feel and see them. We have also gotten 5 nights in a row of sleeping through the night, which coincided with her moving to the next class at daycare, which was what our pediatrician said might help when I took her to the dr. for her 9 month check in. Funny how things work. I think she’ll be walking by month 10, she’s got 2 weeks. It goes so fast.
We are struggling with how to sign them up for activities. I don’t know if we are doing too much, or too little. It also sucks that certain leagues won’t tell you when practice is until right before the league starts, which makes it hard to do multiple things. Who knows, we do our best. Tennis or soccer or volleyball or softball or more basketball but not baseball oh my.
