Yesterday, Nov 8, 2025, at 2:30 am on the dot, Isabella gained a younger sister. That younger sister is named Bensyn “Benni” Anne. She weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches, making her the runt of the Healy family thus far.

Anna started to have some contractions Thursday night, about an hour or so apart, but yet she decided she was still going to go to work. She made it through work, as did I, and then I took kids to tennis, and we did our Friday night family routine of going to Cabo Fish Taco. We did have enough foresight to ask Marny to come up a night early, she was supposed to come get the kids Saturday afternoon so we could have a night and then head to the hospital.

From Cabo, we got home, and I just started packing up the car. For whatever reason, Friday morning I had figured we were going in that day, and by the evening there was no doubt. Anna didn’t want to get sent away from the hospital, so we called her clinic, and they told us to go in. On the way to the hospital, Anna was still worried about getting sent home, even though she was having consistent and quite painful contractions. We got there, she went to Triage, and they were like “yup, we’ll admit you.”

From there it was moving to the admission room, getting an epidural (that was the most eventful part), 2 hours of rest (I fell asleep immediately), and then when the mid wife did the scheduled 1 am check in, it was already go time. By the time they got stuff ready to go, Anna pushed for about 20-30 minutes, and miss Benni surprised even the mid wife by coming out so suddenly.

We’ve now been in the hospital for a day. So far everything is going well. Izzy and Joseph got to meet her yesterday. Izzy wouldn’t let anyone else hold her. Joseph liked to make her kick people. We’ll see how their relationships develop. Best thing was Izzy still was able to go to the roller skating birthday party that she really wanted to go to, and apparently improved quite a bit at roller skating.

Last night, we even had to wake Benni up to feed her. They are saying we’ll likely get to home later today if all things test normal, waiting on those to start as I write this.

Here’s to a a little sister for Izzy.
