Izzy has really hit a new level in her reading ability. We’ve started reading books at night where I read a page, she reads a page. She’s getting all the words very quickly. Even in her worksheets, when she just has to identify 25 words, what earlier this year might have taken 5 min for simple words is now taking less than 1 min for complicated words. All of that has happened in less than 9 months, albeit with twice a week tutoring, but still, it’s very impressive. Her math is also getting a lot better, especially when she focuses. It’s fun to watch her improve and get more confident.
Joseph and I “catch the lights” in the morning. Apparently I taught him that word. We rarely catch the light on our street, but this morning we did, and he said “We finally caught our light.” We still play tag on the way into school, but he’s stopped waving by to me, he just wants to start playing. In fact, this morning, he begged me to take him to school early.
We are playing a lot of front yard sports, and Izzy is actually getting pretty good at hitting baseballs. She also has started to want to play basketball. Joseph still wants to play soccer first right now, but him and Izzy will now play basketball on the same team and they have a play. Yesterday was also the first day that Joseph made multiple shots on a ten foot goal. Just out of nowhere he figured it out.
The grow so fast.
