Joe had his “Christmas Concert” today at daycare. They sang 8 songs, including one in Mandarin. Joe knew them all, and was enthusiastic. He was so happy that Marny and I were there. It was really cool, I was sorry Anna missed it. He also loves to just sing the songs in general, and now Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer will likely be on next years Spotify Wrapped.
Speaking of daycare, he has already moved classes. We miss Mrs. Heidi and Mrs. Romain, but we are adjusting. Joseph (as he introduces himself everywhere) seems to like it to. He plays with legos a lot when I drop him off.
2 weekends ago, we were front row for a pretty nasty car crash coming home from church. It was a bit of a slow motion moment. Luckily, we avoided it (were sitting at the light), but I did get out and the driver of one car (whose fault it was) was freaking out, and the family in the other car was in tears. It was emotional. I spent a lot of time wondering what happened to both parties. Then, the other day when we went to church, Joe asked if we could see a car crash again, that one made me laugh.
We had our first basketball practice this past Saturday with Izzy and Joe on same team and me as coach. I really enjoyed it, we did not shoot once, I have no idea how many points we will be able to score as we have a relatively small and young team, but we are going to have fun!
Chippy is back, and a hit. You should see Izzy’s face when she finds him. We are going to let the kids stay with us at the Christmas party, they are looking forward to it, “Party Night”.
Izzy is learning to read and it’s also fun to watch. She sounds most things out, and when she isn’t 100% sure, she says it quietly like she doesn’t want to be wrong. We are working on confidence. That said, it’s amazing to see how she picks it up. I always think we aren’t doing enough.
Speaking of enough, today was Day 7 of my new job. Off to the races. Solar Coaster here we come.
