I forget if it was this week or last, but Izzy had 12 rings on one morning and I was going to take her to school. I told her she could only wear 2, that we weren’t flashy. She started crying and said that she wouldn’t be pretty enough without all her rings. I asked her who she wouldn’t be pretty enough for, and she said Cooper and Carson – 2 boys in her class who she has a love/hate relationship with. I was not ready for that conversation, but I tried my best to build up her self esteem.
Basketball is going alright. We’re practicing at home, Joe really is practicing at home, I think he’ll be able to shoot next year. Izzy plays. Today she was tired, but she likes defense and has gotten pretty good at passing.
This morning, I asked Joe if he need to go pee or poop on the potty. He said no, ran behind the door, and proceeded to pee. I don’t know why, but he likes pooping and peeing in the corners. He has had a few successes, where he told me, even when he had a diaper on, that he had to go, and he got to the potty in time. I think by his birthday, he just may be potty trained.
Izzy also passed her swim test last weekend. The guards were a little more lax then last time, but Izzy did everything just fine, and then proceeded to go down the waterslide over and over for an hour. I was actually surprised at how she just went down the slide by herself right away, but then she loved it. I’m glad she passed, for multiple reasons, but now she can go in without me having to be in the water or even close by. We’re still going to do swim lessons here in a month or so, for her and Joe, but we were very proud of her.
Aunt G is here this weekend, Izzy and Joe went to Marny and Poppa’s today. Busy life.
