Izzy’s 4th Christmas has come and gone. This year she really understood what was happening. She was very excited for every present (I think her Tijanna dress was her favorite, she hasn’t taken it off yet), very excited for Jesus’s birthday (she made him a cake and she actually cracked the eggs and mixed it herself – and ate a lot of the mix prior to baking), and very excited to give Joe a present (she got him cars, he got her a Poppy doll).

Joe also enjoyed Christmas, I think he understood what gifts where. He can say “mine” and “on” now in regards to a lot of his gifts (other current words in his vocab include “ister”, “cracker”, “mama”, “dada” (First word), “car”, “truck”, “train”, “ball”, “dog”, “disc”, “baba”, “p”, “jack”, maybe some more). He is all about things that move – especially cars, balls, and discs, but really just anything that moves, and he got all of those – a new basketball to share with his sister, a hot wheels set with more cars that is currently favorite, and a ton of discs. Santa must have thought Joe was extra nice.

This year, due to some Covid issues, we spent Christmas at my families for the first time in 6 years. It worked out too because Aunt G was leaving yesterday, so she got to spend extra time with the kids. We also got to take the kids to the beach on boxing day, where Izzy made sand pies and Joe splashed and crashed in the waves, despite it being pretty chilly. He was unfazed. They also love to tackle people, and they gave big joe a bunch of sand tackles.

We got to Anna’s parents yesterday, where we are going to spend the rest of the week off. Going to try to let Izzy use her new fishing pole at some point, and then also maybe ride her first horse at Max and Harrison’s.

We are very lucky to have such filled and worry free christmases.
