I say this a lot – but it’s been too long since the last update. It’s also been a rough week for Joe, but the tough guy just keeps bouncing back.
Yesterday – Izzy was swinging on our tree swing in the backyard (reminder – this is a pretty big swing and Izzy goes really high on it). Luckily towards the part where she was slowing down, Joe wandered under her while I was doing some yard work and not paying close enough attention. In slow motion to me, Izzy’s hip in the swing connected right with the side of Joe’s face, lifted him off his feet, and landed flat on the ground. Initially, I just thought he was shocked, but then after about five minutes, I realized Joe had cut the back of his head because he landed on a rock. Luckily, we gave him a bath and the cut wasn’t that bad, and Joe was back up and playing like nothing happened. He does have quite the welt on the back of his head though.
If only that had been the only big spill Joe had taken this week. Izzy and Joe like to now get out of the bath and sprint around the house naked, laughing hysterically at us while they do it. This has resulted in many a wipe out on our tile floors, but Joe had a particularly bad one this week too. He slipped and fell facefirst into the door frame, I also saw this one slow motion, and said owwww out loud. He has a slight cut in his eyebrow, and a black eye to boot. The boy looks like he got whooped in a UFC fight.
In other news, Izzy is working on counting to 20 and doing “chores”. We give her smiley faces, and then rewards for those smiley faces. When it comes to 20, she’s really close. She gets the numbers between 14-16 messed up some, but yesterday got every number right but 16. I don’t know what happened to her ability to count in spanish, but she has lost that. We’ll start that again soon. She also brushes her teeth each morning/night, cleans up her room and the main room, and is nice to Joe and Calista.
All the Halloween candy is almost gone….
