I need to start writing more frequently, so much is changing so fast.

Izzy has gone to new heights. She now hides things in her diapers/pull ups. I was changing her swim diaper, and a battery fell out. Then the next day, she decided to hide Joe’s cars in her pull up. She had at least 3 cars in there. Hopefully that isn’t a sign of things to come.

Izzy also loves books, and tries to make you read her the whole library before bed. Her current favorite is Bernstein Bears. I actually really like her “Bad Ass Women” books vol 1 and 2 – that’s not the real name, I can’t remember it right now – but it’s about famous historical women. I’m learning a ton. For example, I had no idea Amelia Earhart crashed over the Pacific and disappeared. Izzy’s favorites are the Pirates (Anne Bonny) and Queen Boudica (among other Queens.

I don’t think Izzy has taken a nap in 2 weeks, so we may be done with those. Luckily, we still do quiet time, which is just – play in your room by yourself. She has recently discovered the art of changing herself, and today she had at least 6 separate outfits on by the time I finished breakfast. Uh oh.

In the other child’s world – Joe hasn’t stopped eating. He’s probably still eating right now. He has learned how to say “peeaas” – which means “please”, and his favorite is “ah-ah”, code for applesauce. He definitely knows what he wants, and will pitch a fit when he doesn’t get it, sometimes trying to hit you.

Last week, we got him a bunch of hot wheels cars for his tracks, and he loves them. Izzy loves stealing them. He’s also started playing a lot with sports balls. His favorite activity is to throw the ball, happy feet (run in place), then runs after it – its like he has to go “chop/chop/chop” before he can take off. Maybe we should call him a roadrunner. He also likes making baskets, and I think we’re close to both of them wanting to hit baseballs.

The other day, both Izzy and Joe and I played Ball for over 30 min. We started with soccer, then moved to basketball. This is what we do to distract them from screens. Movies (most recent was “Cars” which Izzy called “racing”), TV Shows (Fancy Nancy, Daniel Tiger, Mickey Mouse clubhouse, etc.), and our phones/computers. It’s bad. Keep the machines away.

Not a lot going on here – signing off!
