Izzy started Swim Lessons on Monday. She has had 2 now. The first swim lesson Anna took her, and she screamed the whole time and wouldn’t get in the water with the teacher – until forced in at which point she still screamed for mommy. The second swim lesson she was great, followed the teacher, did what she was supposed to, etc. That said she was still really shy and timid for what Izzy typically is. We’ll see how the rest go. After the class we practiced a few of the things she was struggling with – getting onto the floating platform, swimming with a noodle by herself, and she did them all just fine. We’ll see how she does tomorrow. Dance class is still going well too, she learned how to “hop” this week.
Speaking of learning, in the last two weeks Izzy’s vocabulary and ability to have a conversation has drastically improved. It’s hard to describe in writing, but it was definitely a step change. She also likes to refer to me as “Nate” sometimes, which we find funny. A favorite book of hers lately has been Green Eggs and Ham, and you can tell she’s memorizing it as well.
Joe is almost walking. I’ve set the over under for pre month 11 (pre Izzy’s bday of 4/24). He can stand by himself, and he is pushing everything around while walking (cars, chairs, tables, etc.). He also has his two front teeth on top that came through, so he’s beating Izzy there. “DaDa” is still his go to word, but he has a mean growl that he can do on command. He also love’s Alex’s baby CC. Sometimes too much as he’ll come up to her and put his hands all over her face. Speaking of Joe – last night was daylight savings time – spring forward – he woke up 20 min earlier than normal….Gotta go get him now.
