Well, we chose the wrong weekend to go to the mountains. Last weekend, we were going to go but decided not to, it snowed 7 inches. This week, it was supposed to snow all week, all it did was rain. We still went this weekend – and we still had fun!

While there wasn’t much snow left, there was still enough for us to make a snowman. It was Izzy’s first ever, and she appropriately named it Olaf. Olaf was made of icy snow, and we made him out of 4 parts. Izzy like to give him food – which consisted of putting snow at the base of Olaf. Izzy called it food because while “we” made Olaf, she was eating a lot of snow.

While we were making Olaf, Izzy had gone inside and brought out the sled (which she had never been on) and said she wanted to “do that”. After realizing there wasn’t enough snow, we decided to go sledding a little earlier than we were planning to. We headed to the Beach Mountain Sledding hill, which is perfect for Izzy and Joe. Izzy and I went down a few times, laughing all the way, before we decided to let Joe try. And Joe loved it more than Izzy. He would just laugh and laugh all the way down and then smile all the way walking up. We sledded for about 45 minutes, Anna even went down a few times before heading home.

We woke up again the next day, and went sledding again. We had just as much fun. I was then able to get a little snowboarding in, and I can’t wait to take Izzy. We’ll probably wait until next year, but I think she and Joe will love that as well.
