The day after Christmas and two days after Christmas eve. Izzy and Joe got enough toys for 10 children. I actually think Izzy was overwhelmed with presents, to the point where we had to take present breaks.
Izzy’s favorite present so far is her dress up princess dresses. She likes to be “Belle” of “Beauty and the Beast” fame, but she puts all the dresses on over top of each other (Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty). That said, as soon as we opened presents at Marny and Papa’s, Izzy went to the other room to get the “old” toys from under the ping pong table to play with. We have too many, at both our house and the grandparents house. Izzy is currently playing with the old train tracks, not with any of her presents from yesterday.
Joe’s first christmas was much more low key than Izzy’s for him, but I do think he understood that he received presents. He’s currently popping out his second tooth, and we forgot children’s tylenol. That said, he’s being a trooper. He got a pretty cool car that will be fun for him to grow on.
Overall, it was a very nice Christmas, despite all the Covid. Izzy wasn’t able to see Caroline and Lala, but she was able to see Mathias. Joe also likes Mathias, and he crawls after him, sometimes scaring him. Izzy wrote a note and made a cupcake for Santa, of which Santa wrote her a note and left her a bite of the cupcake left. We sang “Happy Birthday” to Baby Jesus, they watched the movie “star”, and we sang “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”. Izzy only pitched a few fits ;).
Til Next Christmas…
