Joe has a tooth. It’s barely popping through, but you can see it and feel it. We’ve starting giving him puffs, he crushes solid foods, and we’re almost all the way transitioned to formula. He also drools a lot and still spits up like a machine.
Joe is also mobile. His army crawl is getting serious. He can pull himself up on things already. When you hold his hands he can walk, and in his walker he just flies around.
Every-time I come down for work, or Anna gets home, or Alex shows up, he just smiles at us.And when he smiles, his eyes and cheeks just light up – I can’t describe it.
Last thing on Joe, (knock on wood), we moved him out of our room across the hall, and he’s been sleeping much better since we did that. Wow, what a difference.
Izzy is starting to be very hot and cold. She’s still great, but boy does she know what she wants. And when she doesn’t get it…we’ve been working through a hitting and kicking problem. Not sure how long this phase will last, or if it will get worse before it gets better, but Anna asked if I’d rather have the 2 year old fits or the teenage fits – I’ll take the 2 year old fits all day. I can out last her right now.
We’ve started playing basketball. She can actually catch it sometimes + is a super-dunker on our little tikes goal. Her favorite thing is to try to get me to block her, but dunk it right before I can. She also likes it when I block her, which is odd. Either way, she’s starting to be able to play things like that, and I can’t wait for more.
She’s very excited for Christmas. Izzy has already made 2 gingerbread houses + written a letter from Santa. All she wants is “presents” – very specific lol. I think I could get her a box wrapped in paper and she’d be fine. Or just put in it toys from a year ago – although she’s too smart for that and knows that those would already be hers.
Last update on Izzy – we’ve started “sight words”. I think she just likes the song on the phone, but hey – its a start. I’m sure pretty soon I’ll be writing about how she read me a story…wow.
