Watching Fireworks

Izzy and Joe are no longer the only grandchildren on Anna’s families side. Anna’s sister had their baby boy today. Izzy/Joe and Anna/I will have to get used to the shared attention (we lean on Marmy a lot), but it will be a good thing because Joe will have a boy his age to play with.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind. Joe made his first beach trips. Izzy made Noni play with her in the water for 2-3 hours straight on one of those beach trips, and then made Jack/Phillip/Me play with her in the water on the other one. She loves the water so far. That said, she still relies on “crabby” to float (float that goes around her body and has the arm floaties attached). I get a little nervous with her in the ocean, but way more nervous in the river, which we’ve also been in recently. The river is just so dirty, you can’ really see anything under water. We don’t have a boat to take them on yet (working on that), but Joe did sit in his car seat on a boat on a lift so he has technically been on a boat now.

Izzy also saw the fireworks on 4th of July. She had mixed emotions. She loved the colors, but the sound would sometimes scare her. That said, when we had to leave because the “fi-ah-woks” were over, she was not happy. This was the first time she had seen a fire works show, and she saw New Bern’s finest.

Izzy is a big girl now. Where did the last 2 years go? We head to the beach for a week here in a few weeks, she is just going to be in heaven.
