Izzy’s second Easter is in the books. This one was quite different than most, yet we still had a blast. We started with her finding her Easter Basket, in which was a baby stuffed bunny rabbit, chocolate of all varieties, and easter eggs. We quickly took those easter eggs outside and used those for an easter egg hunt (we did a practice one Thursday so she knew what to do). She was pretty good at finding them, and once she got her eyes locked on one it was full sprint to get it in her basket (which btw we will never use the “easter grass” again, that stuff is a nightmare to pick up if it falls out of the basket, which with a 2 year old happens a lot). We proceeded to eat a Reester Bunny for breakfast, and then skipped her nap later in the day.
Side note – we came down to my parents to get some help this coming week with Izzy during work hours (My wife and I are both working remote). Izzy is all about Noni and “Baba” (Baba is supposed to be abuelo). She also likes to say “Jack Back” (Jack’s my little brother).
We took another long Sunday quarantine walk today. Izzy loves it when I push her really fast in the stroller and let her go, then catch up to the stroller and do it all over again. She also likes gradually dropping things under the stroller. One shoe, elmo stuffed animal, other shoe, etc. All told though, she does pretty well in the stroller. My legs hurt.
We’re pretty used to this new normal. We’re also pretty lucky that both Anna and I can work remotely, and that we’ve been healthy thus far. Praying that the implications of this pandemic aren’t too negative down the line.
