This week was the first week of summer for the kids and Anna, and it was the first week for the new ACL for me. I had surgery on 6/5, which was Anna’s first day of summer. Surgery went smooth, but everything after has been a journey.

Day 1 – worked, didn’t get out of bed, night sucked.

Day 2 – worst day. Got out of bed, lots of naps. Pain pills every 4 hours on the dot.

Day 3 – made it to church. Wasn’t too fun, also made it to Uncle Paul’s pool. Night time again was the worst.

Day 4 – First day of PT. Could do a straight leg, but barely, and got 55 degrees flexion and 2 degrees from 0 straight.

Day 5 – Exercises were tough. Only doing pain pills now before bed and in the morning. That’s hardest times.

Day 6 – 2nd day of PT. Straight legs getting easier. Flexion to 81 degrees and .5 degrees from 0. Progress

I think I’ll get cleared to start to put weigh on the leg Friday. This is going to be a journey, but I’m ahead of schedule. Eating all the protein is getting tough with no other exercise, I hope I feel up to start some other forms this weekend.

Izzy and Joe are in camps this week. Basketball at Queens and Volleyball at Country Day. Volleyball has been the favorite of the two. For Izzy, I think its because there are girls. For Joseph, I think its because Izzy enjoys it more. Either way, they’ve been going strong for 3 days, 2 more days to go.
