We’ve had a lot of cool stuff happen the last few weeks. Izzy and Joe have now been to Upper and Lower Falls 2x this summer, and the difference is this time they slid down the waterfalls. Joe went first, and then Izzy followed the first trip. The second trip, they were pros, and Izzy even tried the rope swing (I was scared she wouldn’t hold on and hit a rock) but she did great, and then they slid down an additional rock slide all the way at the bottom. Next time I’ll try to get them to go exploring the top section with me. They also do great on the whole hike for the most part, short cuts included. I may have gotten us lost on a short cut that wasn’t a short cut, and Luke may have been mad at me for a bit, but you’d never know.
We also took them to Compressions for the second time ever, and this time they actually swam in the pools. Anna refused to let them even think about trying the waterfall, which is fair, but they had a great time jumping off the rocks and into the pool. Joe is funny in the cold water because he visibly shivers but still keeps swimming. Izzy did not want to leave, and she always wanted to be in the front of the hike.
Izzy also lost her first tooth. It had been loose for a while, and basically had to fall out on its own, but it came out and she was very excited. The tooth fairy business must be booming, because she got $10 for her tooth. She has another one that is loose right beside the one that fell out, bottom middle, so we’ll see how much tooth fairy brings for #2.
I also turned 34, Anna turns 34 soon. 34, not an age I really thought about much, but here it is. We had king crab legs for dinner with Jason and Kristen, so good. Hopefully it’s as fun as the last 33.
