I’ve gotten out of the swing of things. Lets try to recap:
Joe turned 2 on 5/24. Alex and Marny took him, Izzy, CC, and Mathias to Chuckie Cheese’s. We then had lots of pizza and cake for dinner. Joe got so many presents. The amount of presents he gets makes me feel guilty. How do you tell family and friends not to get so many presents? He was excited for his birthday, I think he knew what was happening more than Izzy did when she turned 2.
Aunt G got water gun floats, which then Uncle Paul taught the kids they could fire them by using a glass of water. Needless to say, that ended in a wet porch/house.
Both kids have started pitching more fits, but Izzy’s have been awful. She loses control, and the fit ends when she pees on herself. We’ve tried a lot of things, so far the best is taking away toys. TV kind of works, and spanking doesn’t work at all it just makes her madder. She is very strong willed to say the least.
Izzy is also talking on another level. The things she says sometimes make me laugh, even when they shouldn’t, just because I can’t believe she knows how to comprehend or just blurt things out.
Joe loves his golf clubs and all balls still. He has stopped throwing the disc the normal way, and instead does a kind of over the shoulder flick that goes pretty far. I think its because he’s been throwing other things normally too, he has quite the arm.
We are working on Joe’s counting and letters. He is definitely behind Izzy at 2 there. I think it may be because we used watch sesame street with Izzy, and Joe watches Mickey Mouse Racers. Izzy still skips over either 13, 14, or 15 when counting to 20. Not sure how to make that click for her.
Our family also makes an unbelievable amount of mess. It’s crazy how messy we can be. Joe is the worst at it too.
Ok – I’m sure I’m missing a lot of items, we’ll figure them out and get back to this more regularly.
