The last few weeks have been marked by one thing, and that is change. This post isn’t so much about Izzy and Joe, but just our lives.
We had an offer accepted and went under contract on a new house in Charlotte, after about a 9 month search, and we close on 4/6. Now we just hope that it was the right thing for our family, but it sure felt like we were routed into this house by a series of events.
Today, we took Mac to a farm about an hour away that was looking for a companion for one of their rescue pigs Emma. It was pretty emotional. At the end of the day, if it works out, Mac will have a ton of land to graze on, 4-5 other dogs, 2 horses, and a pig to be her friends. We’ll see how much weight she gains, and Anna can go see Mac if/when she wants too. Izzy didn’t go with us today, she stayed with Noni and Baba, but she did want to see pictures of Emma. Sometimes it feels like you failed, but we didn’t fail, Mac just wasn’t meant to live in a yard in a suburb.
Next week, I have to go back into the office. I’m not exactly looking forward to it. I enjoy the remote work, and being more in control of my schedule, which allows me to see more of Izzy and Joe. We’ll see how it goes.
At the end of the day, change is constant. Normally I like it. These are 3 big changes in a short span of time. To go along with how much Izzy and Joe change everyday. Today in church, Izzy was the “prayer hand” police – she didn’t know how to do that a month ago. We’ll take it one step at a time, and enjoy every step.
