It’s a week since Thanksgiving, but Joe and Izzy have had a big week. We were able to return, after a year haitus, to Uncle Brian’s in Fredericksburg, VA, bookended by spending a few days in New Bern and the kids spending a few days after in Thomasville.

At Uncle Brian’s, Izzy got to experience the movie theater and the hot tub, both of which she loved. Joe got to experience the pool table with its many balls. He also got to experience the neighbors life size plastic replicas of a cow (moo moo), horse (neigh), and geese (geese).

Izzy spent a lot of time playing with her new dolls that Uncle Pat and Aunt Joan got her. Joe spent time playing with hot wheels cars and trucks that were from same Pat/Joan combo.

For Joe, it was his first time meeting Uncle Brian, Pat, Aunt Joan, Michelle, and Tommy.

Surprisingly, both kids were great in the car for our rides. On the way to New Bern, we went late, and they slept basically the whole way. On the way to Fredericksburg, we left at 530, and they still slept the whole way. On the way home, they didn’t sleep, but were well behaved. Sleeping though, that was a different story. Joe doesn’t sleep well in the pack and play anymore, and Izzy decided to get into our bed no matter how many times I put her back in hers.

All in all, it was a good holiday.
