I’ve slacked here. There have been quite a few developments and experiences in the last few weeks. I’ll try to hit as many of them without forgetting any as I can.
Izzy learned to use the potty pretty well after we got back from the OBX trip. She’s had a few accidents since, but in most cases she’ll go poop and pee on the potty. That’s been really really nice. Not sure what the trick was, but it was like she was willing to do it overnight.
Joe’s big development has been his talking and his eating. There are a few words he says a ton now – his new favorite is “Ma Ma”. He also says “Ball”, “Cracker”, “PaPa”, and “BaBa” quite a lot. He uses those words for his desire to eat. His favorites include applesauce pouches, watermelon, and bananas. He’s a fruit head right now.
We had a big fourth of july weekend at Noni and Babas. We went on their boat a few times. Izzy and Joe both went tubing with me, Izzy also went with Anna. We went skiing, and after I got done, Izzy asked if she could go. We’re going to have to learn to swim first…We also saw the fireworks on the boat. Izzy wasn’t as interested as she was last year, but it was a good show.
We’ve been to the Morrison YMCA outdoor pool a few times in the last few weeks too, and both Izzy and Joe have enjoyed seeing and playing with real other children. Joe will just go down and down the slide, all by himself. Izzy wants to go down the big slides, but we have to learn to swim first.
Time is flying by, not sure how much longer Izzy will let mee hold her and lay her down to sleep – but we’ll do it as long as she lets me.
